We're looking for a commercially minded and collaborative finance leader to join our Retail Finance team as Head of Finance for Lifetime Mortgages & Financial Advice.

This will be on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis.

This is a high-profile role that combines strategic business partnering, financial leadership and operational oversight, helping to shape decision-making and drive performance across two important and growing businesses.

Based in Solihull, you'll work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Retail and the wider Group to deliver robust financial outcomes and support long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Leading financial reporting across the Lifetime Mortgages and Financial Advice businesses, ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate financial results across all key metrics
  • Developing strong relationships with senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and assess financial implications of business initiatives
  • Leading the end-to-end financial planning process across both businesses and supporting the delivery of commercial objectives
  • Managing and challenging expense performance, ensuring effective oversight of costs incurred across the businesses
  • Overseeing finance operations and controls, maintaining a robust financial control framework and high service standards
  • Monitoring regulatory, accounting and Group reporting developments, assessing impacts and implementing appropriate actions
  • Ensuring high-quality finance MI, processes and systems are in place to support good customer outcomes and informed decision-making
  • Leading, coaching and developing a small finance team while fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
  • Who we're looking for
  • A qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience
  • Strong understanding of IFRS reporting requirements and the key drivers of financial performance
  • Experience leading commercial and operational finance teams within a complex organisation
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, expense management and operational finance processes
  • Experience of statutory and management accounting, ideally within an FCA-regulated environment
  • Understanding of financial risk management and maintaining a strong control environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to drive change and deliver results
