Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to join our growing group business based at our Trafford Park office.

This is a fully operational HR role where you'll work closely with managers and employees across the business, providing expert guidance on employee relations while leading a small HR team.

You'll be based on-site at our Trafford Park office, with occasional travel to other company locations as required.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being visible within the business, building strong relationships with operational teams, and delivering practical HR solutions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all employee relations matters across the businesses, ensuring best practice and legal compliance.
  • Advise, coach and support managers on employment legislation, performance management, HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead complex HR casework including disciplinary and grievance processes, absence management, TUPE transfers, organisational restructuring and consultation.
  • Manage and develop a small HR team, ensuring an efficient and high-quality HR service.
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and induction, probation and performance reviews, employee development and offboarding.
  • Support payroll by ensuring accurate HR administration and assisting the team with payroll-related queries.
  • Review, update and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Promote employee wellbeing, welfare and recognition initiatives.
  • Support operational managers with day-to-day people issues, providing practical, commercially focused HR advice.
  • Management of systems, ATS, scheduling, and supporting new implementations as required.
  • Ensure the HR function remains visible, approachable and engaged with employees across the business.
  • Monitor team workloads, motivate colleagues and drive continuous improvement within the HR department.
  • Ensure all HR processes remain compliant with all employment legislation and Security industry authority compliance standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous demonstrable experience in an HR Manager role, within security, events, high-volume hospitality, logistics or retail.
  • CIPD level 5 or 7.
  • Extensive employee relations experience with a strong understanding of UK employment legislation.
  • Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, performance, TUPE and restructuring processes.
  • Proven experience leading and developing an HR team.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with managers at all levels.
  • Previous experience of HR/ATS and Scheduling systems, with strong knowledge of Excel.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to work closely alongside operational teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience within a high-volume staffing environment is essential.
  • Driving license and own transport will be required for travel between sites.
  • Experience working within an SIA Approved Contractor environment or other compliance-led business would be advantageous.
