Bar Assistant (Developmental)

Position Overview

This position is located at the RAF Croughton Crown Pub and is a developmental role designed to provide training and experience needed to qualify as a bartender.

Schedule and Work Hours

Regularly scheduled Friday nights, with possible requirements to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

Open to all applicants, including military and civilian residents of the United States and eligible residents of the United Kingdom. Military personnel must submit an AF 3902 form and complete a physical examination. All applicants must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and a Dram Shop license. Proof of eligibility must be provided with the application by the closing date.

Physical and Safety Requirements

Applicants must be physically capable of frequently lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds and must be able to secure the necessary certifications.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience is evaluated on a scale of NA‑01 to NA‑03, with credit given for paid, unpaid, and volunteer work.

• NA‑01 (Entry) – No prior training or experience required; must follow simple oral instructions and use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes. Ability to lift 5–15 pounds, pull/push 10–20 pounds, and lift up to and over 40 pounds as needed.
• NA‑03 (Target) – Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, including correct proportions and mixture preparation. Must recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolve or seek assistance. Must follow cash handling procedures. Physical requirements include lifting 5–15 pounds, pulling/pushing 10–20 pounds, and lifting up to and over 40 pounds as needed.
