Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support foster carers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to children.
  • Conduct assessments and home visits to evaluate foster carers' suitability and ongoing performance.
  • Provide training, guidance, and emotional support to foster carers to enhance their skills and confidence.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive case records and reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to promote the best interests of the child.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and child protection procedures at all times.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to care planning and review processes.

Qualifications

  • Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification (e. g., CQSW, Dip SW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in supervising foster carers and working within child welfare or fostering services.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding policies affecting children and families.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
