The Lead AI & Technology Risk Auditor is a senior audit professional responsible for leading complex technology and business audits across high-risk and emerging technology domains, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, Machine Learning (ML), advanced analytics platforms, and cloud-native technologies.

In this role, you serve as both an audit leader and subject‑matter expert.

You design and execute audit strategies that evaluate the effectiveness of technology controls, AI governance practices, model risk management, automation frameworks, and data‑driven decision‑making systems.

You provide independent assurance over AI‑enabled solutions while helping the audit function evolve through the adoption of AI‑assisted auditing techniques, data analytics, automation, and innovative audit methodologies.

Working closely with business leaders, technology partners, risk functions, and audit teams, you influence audit strategy, mentor auditors, and help ensure that Allstate’s adoption of AI technologies remains secure, compliant, ethical, and appropriately governed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently lead complex technology, cyber, data, and AI‑focused audits from planning through reporting, ensuring delivery of high‑quality audit outcomes within agreed timelines.
  • Develop and execute risk‑based audit programs that assess governance, risk management, and control effectiveness across technology platforms, cloud environments, AI systems, and data solutions.
  • Evaluate controls supporting the design, development, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing governance of AI and machine learning solutions.
  • Assess generative AI and large language model (LLM) implementations, including model governance, prompt engineering controls, output validation processes, data privacy protections, and third‑party AI service provider oversight.
  • Apply data analytics, automation, and AI‑assisted audit techniques to improve audit effectiveness, perform full‑population testing, identify anomalies, and uncover emerging risks.
  • Conduct walkthroughs, control assessments, testing procedures, and root cause analysis for complex technology and business processes.
  • Communicate audit observations and recommendations through sprint reviews, stakeholder discussions, and formal audit reports.
  • Partner with technology and business leaders to understand strategic initiatives, emerging risks, and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to audit team members in areas including technology risk, AI governance, data analytics, control evaluation, and strategic thinking.
  • Contribute to Internal Audit transformation initiatives through the development of innovative audit methodologies, AI‑enabled audit practices, continuous monitoring capabilities, and automation solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging AI regulations, industry standards, and technology trends, incorporating them into audit planning and execution.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management, Technology Risk, Cybersecurity, or Technology Control functions within a regulated or large enterprise environment.

  • Practical experience with at least one analytical or technical tool such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SAS, or equivalent.
