Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Hafan y Waun Residential Home.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of service and ensuring a positive dining experience for our residents.
Work Hours
Working hours: 20 hours per week on a two‑week rolling rota, including early/late shifts and weekend working.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages, including setting up and clearing tables.
- Record the temperature of food at the point of service.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing up of equipment and utensils.
- Collaborate with the catering team to deliver exceptional service.
- Ensure strict compliance with food handling and hygiene standards, guided by Food Safety legislation and Environmental Health Standards.
- Use hazardous equipment safely and adhere to COSHH and other health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and undertake relevant courses as required.
