Push Gaming is a dynamic and innovative game development studio specialising in creating top-quality, mobile-optimised online casino games. We are seeking a highly skilled and creative 2D Animator to join our talented team and bring our next generation of slot games to life.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to craft engaging animations that enhance the visual appeal, excitement, and immersive quality of our games. You will work closely with our art and development teams to create fluid, high-quality character and effects animations that align with our unique game styles and themes.
Location: Remote/hybrid in UK, Poland, Malta or Spain.
Salary: Depending on experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Create high-quality storyboards and animations in Spine in all areas of the game from characters to backgrounds to game symbols and VFX.
- Work closely with Art Leads, Game Designers and Developers to detail the goals and implement animations into the game.
- Receive feedback from art/animation leads, art directors and support them to meet the demands and expectations of the projects.
- Assist developers throughout the game development process.
- Take ownership of your own development to grow and learn.
- Produce concepts and mockups to help the decision-making process.
- Optimize assets so that our games run smoothly.
- Design resource lean animations, still of high quality and performance for mobile devices.
- Good communication skills and experience working in a team environment.
- A desire to push animation in video games to new levels of believability.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Good understanding of one of skeletal animation programs such as Spine, Dragon Bones, Anima2d, Creature, etc.
- Good knowledge of an animation program such as Animate, Toon Boom or After Effects.
- A varied showreel that covers character animation, visual effects and storytelling.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, such as key poses, squash and stretch, anticipation, follow-through, etc.
- Ability to work within an art team, manage multiple tasks and work towards deadlines.
- Ability to develop various appealing animations and adapt to existing styles and guidelines set by Art Leads and Art Director.
- A communicator with the ability to verbalise conceptual thoughts and with an openness to constructive criticism.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of other Adobe packages like Photoshop.
- Understanding how to compile animations for a game pipeline.
- More than 1 year of experience in the game dev industry.
