The Mission Equipment Specialist is responsible for the operational oversight, technical authority and safe performance of offshore mission equipment across the Purus Group. This includes walk to work gangway systems, offshore cranes and all associated hydraulic, electrical and control systems. The role ensures that equipment remains safe, compliant and reliable through active monitoring, maintenance planning, documentation control and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Provide day to day operational oversight of offshore mission systems during campaigns, working predominantly remotely with occasional attendance onboard.
  • Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and PLC or HMI control faults and supervise emergency repairs to restore safe capability.
  • Conduct inspections, audits and preventive maintenance reviews in line with OEM and class requirements.
  • Maintain all technical documentation including maintenance plans, inspection records, deviation logs and statutory reports.
  • Act as the single technical point of contact for gangway and crane performance, including commissioning, fault finding and remedial action.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards, including LOLER, IMCA guidance, class rules, OEM regimes and site specific permits to work and HSE procedures.
  • Approve and quality assure lift plans.
