About the Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will become part of a skilled on-site engineering team responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support across a wide range of manufacturing equipment and site facilities. This shift-based role requires a proactive and technically capable engineer with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, excellent fault-finding ability, and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.
Shift Pattern
- Rotating shifts every 2 weeks:
- Day Shift: 05:45 – 18:15
- Night Shift: 17:45 – 06:15
Overtime opportunities are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across a broad range of manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose faults and perform reactive maintenance repairs to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Conduct maintenance and general repairs to site facilities and building fabric.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required documentation.
- Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and site performance.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support overall site operations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A recognised apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical engineering.
- A minimum Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, ONC, or equivalent).
- At least 5 years’ experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, including fault diagnosis and repair.
- A strong understanding of health & safety legislation and engineering best practice.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A full UK driving licence due to shift patterns and site location.
- Full Right to Work in the UK — sponsorship is not available for this role.
