About the Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be an integral part of an established and capable on-site maintenance team. Working across both planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault-finding, you will be responsible for keeping a wide variety of manufacturing equipment and facilities operating safely and efficiently. This role is shift-based and requires a confident, hands-on engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills and a proactive attitude to problem-solving.

Shift Pattern

  • Shifts rotating every 2 weeks between days and nights
  • Day Shift - 05:45 - 18:15
  • Night Shift - 17:45 - 06:15
  • Overtime is available

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across a wide variety of manufacturing equipment, maintaining accurate records and reporting.
  • Perform fault-finding and reactive breakdown repairs on production machinery, minimising downtime and ensuring swift resolution.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance to building fabric and facilities.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives across the site.
  • Adhere to all health & safety regulations, permit-to-work procedures, and site standards at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with the wider engineering and production teams to support site operations.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • A recognised apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ equivalent, BTEC, or ONC qualification.
  • BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a multiskilled maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience of working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical circuits - including fault diagnosis.
  • A strong working knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practice.
  • Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
  • A full UK driving licence (essential due to shift pattern and site location).
