The Role

  • Providing expert legal advice on the full spectrum of employment law matters, including discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, pay disputes, TUPE, restructures, and disciplinary processes.
  • Contributing to policy development, delivering internal training, and supporting the upskilling of HR and people teams to build lasting in-house legal capability.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Advising on complex employment law matters and supporting informed decision-making at senior levels.
  • Conducting legal research into new legislation and case law, and translating this into practical guidance.
  • Drafting and reviewing employment-related documents including policies, contracts, and agreements.
  • Preparing tribunal updates, reports, and briefing papers with clear legal recommendations.
  • Delivering training to internal leaders and people teams on employment law and risk management.
  • Maintaining accurate legal records and contributing to governance and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with a valid practising certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience handling Employment Tribunal cases, ideally from a Respondent or predominantly Respondent practice.
  • Experience in or exposure to public sector or unionised working environments is advantageous.
  • Strong drafting and advocacy skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and work independently under pressure.
