The Role
We are recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to join an award-winning laboratory in Witham on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in science who wants to gain hands-on laboratory experience with full training provided.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Weigh analytical samples with a high degree of accuracy
- Prepare laboratory samples under the guidance of experienced Chemists
- Load and unload laboratory dishwashers
- Clean and maintain laboratory glassware and equipment
- Transport samples and materials between company sites using the company van
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment
- Follow laboratory procedures, quality standards and health & safety guidelines
- Report any issues or deviations to the Laboratory Supervisor
What We’re Looking For
- Genuine interest in science and laboratory work
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Well organised with the ability to work under pressure
- Computer literate
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to work with discretion and confidentiality
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Previous laboratory experience is not required – full training provided
