As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will become part of a skilled on-site engineering team responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support across a wide range of manufacturing equipment and site facilities. This shift-based role requires a proactive and technically capable engineer with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, excellent fault-finding ability, and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.

Shift Pattern

  • Day Shift: 05:45 – 18:15
  • Night Shift: 17:45 – 06:15

Overtime opportunities are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across a broad range of manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and perform reactive maintenance repairs to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Conduct maintenance and general repairs to site facilities and building fabric.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and site performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and company procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support overall site operations.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • A recognised apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical engineering.
  • A minimum Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, ONC, or equivalent).
  • BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, including fault diagnosis and repair.
  • A strong understanding of health & safety legislation and engineering best practice.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A full UK driving licence due to shift patterns and site location.
  • Full Right to Work in the UK – sponsorship is not available for this role.
