Our client is seeking a skilled and versatile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to support the effective and efficient repair and maintenance of machinery to national standards. You will be responsible for planned maintenance, facilities maintenance, and equipment reliability, working within a continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner, prioritising the safety of yourself and colleagues.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with IEEE, BS7671 Wiring Regulations, and Electricity at Work regulations.
- Support plant reliability, engineering, and ancillary services.
- Maintain facility and equipment operation, including ancillary and peripheral systems.
- Utilise the CMMS system to optimise equipment reliability and performance.
- Provide energy to the Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule to achieve a "best in class" environment.
- Seek and implement improvements to reduce spending and increase efficiency.
- Respond efficiently to breakdowns and support production supervisors.
- Use and maintain workshop machinery, including lathes and milling machines.
- Promote reliability, predictive, and preventive maintenance best practices.
- Carry out fault diagnosis on electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of faults and projects.
- Support any project work as needed.
- Be flexible with working hours, including occasional overtime.
Physical Requirements
- Must be mobile and able to work shifts.
- Availability for occasional overtime and travel (primarily for training).
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential:
- Completed a recognised maintenance engineering apprenticeship (mechanical/electrical/electro-mechanical).
- 5 years of relevant experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance or project roles.
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, drives, and controls.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office).
- Desirable:
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- Experience with AC and DC drives.
- Familiarity with Siemens PLC fault finding.
- Awareness of engineering regulations and project work.
