Role Profile
This role will be responsible for the setting, running and adjustment of the presses to produce components that are conforming to the relevant quality standards in place on site.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Participate in a positive and proactive EHS culture across the site.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping within the working area.
- Perform equipment maintenance checks on guards and protection devices within the required parameters.
- Select the correct tooling for each as determined by the working practices.
- Set and operate the presses within the prescribed parameters.
- Press a range of various components using a wide range of materials.
- Maintain accurate records on the batch card; ensure full compliance to the quality standards at all times.
Person Specification
- Team player with the ability to work alone and use own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience with mechanical and hydraulic presses.
- Experience on Lasco, John Shaw, Hydroform and Lancastrian presses would be a distinct advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/engineering batch cards.
- Flexible approach to working various shift patterns.
- Willingness to be trained across departments, supporting flexible working requirements.
- Lifting truck licence and relevant experience is desirable (but not essential).
