Role Profile

The role of Quality Engineer is to assist the Quality Leader and Operations Leaders in ensuring that Quality Management Systems are implemented throughout the Business, meeting regulatory and customer requirements.

A key member of the Quality team, this role should satisfy business requirements by providing dynamic, professional, and fit for purpose support as part of the supply chain management team.

  • Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Participate in a positive and proactive EHS culture across the site.
  • Perform audits (Systems, Supplier & Product) both internally and externally, maintaining a rolling audit plan.
  • Carry out any necessary problem investigations, identify and correct any non-conformance with the previously demonstrated capability, monitor and report on the effectiveness of the non-conformance control system
  • Participate in Business Improvement activities, develop visual management tools and support process improvement activities.
  • Review supplier concessions and production permits, liaising with Engineering and providing feedback direct to customers.
  • Review FAIR register and FPA’s, providing feedback to Suppliers and Customers.
  • Identifying areas of waste and improvements, implementing, and monitoring any changes.
  • Create and manage the internal audit plan, ensuring that all internal auditors are trained, assigning and monitoring audits and findings.
  • Update procedures and work instructions on the Quality Management System, reviewing QMS Audit findings and RCA’s, assessing effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Assess and monitor NCN’S, providing support to Operations, Engineering and Purchasing, to instigate RCCA – PIR to Suppliers, monitor PIR closures, review and assist in the investigation process when required and review scrap and rework figures.
  • Generate weekly reports for the business KPI’s including Escapes, Scrap, Rework and RFT metrics.
  • Regularly analyse NCN data for trends and potential risks, instigating and driving improvement activities.
  • Act as Business Partner to shop floor personnel on quality issues

Person Specification

  • Aviation manufacturing experience and / or technical experience or equivalent
  • Team player with strong inclusiveness skills
  • Industry experience commensurate with the requirements of the Regulatory authorities.
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • Data driven Problem solving Skills
  • Process Management Skills
  • Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant quality and process standards/specifications
