The Project Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the successful introduction of new products into the business. This role is the link between the Project Manager, Engineering, Quality and Purchasing teams to ensure that all technical requirements are met in line with schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Participate in a positive and proactive EHS culture across the site.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to assist in the planning, delivery and execution of NPI projects as per the project plan.
- Interpret customer requirements and translate them into engineering and manufacturing specifications.
- Support the development and maintenance of project schedules and technical documentation.
- Act as a key liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time and meet required standards.
- Manage engineering changes, ensuring proper documentation, approval, and implementation.
- Troubleshoot engineering and production issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Support first article inspections and any other validation activities.
- Support audits, certifications, and customer inspections.
- Identify technical risks and support mitigation planning.
- Track and resolve technical issues impacting project delivery.
- Prepare and maintain technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Provide regular updates on engineering progress, risks, and issues.
- Working with the KPO Team, support initiatives to improve engineering processes, efficiency, and product quality.
Person Specification
- Previous experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrications, press, heat treatment, welding etc.).
- Familiarity with engineering documentation.
- Understanding of configuration management and change control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities with the ability to speak to stakeholders at all levels within the business.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
