The KPO/Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for supporting and leading process improvement initiatives by learning and applying Kaizen tools, principles, and methods to improve the flow of parts, information, and people while ensuring safety and quality. This role analyzes current processes, identifies inefficiencies, and implements lean tools, working closely with the Site KPO Leader to execute and sustain continuous improvement projects.
Location: Burnley, UK. This position is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities- Lead or support process improvements by identifying and eliminating waste from the manufacturing processes to facilitate one piece flow, ensuring quality and safety.
- Implement process improvements including people, material and information flow, mistake proofing, quick change fixturing, standardization, quick and hands-free clamping, and hands-free loading and unloading.
- Develop and implement lean tools (5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
- Support Kaizen events and document improvements.
- Provide technical expertise in process improvement and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
- Project management from start to finish including project development, implementation, and review.
- Provide creative and innovative hands-on solutions to facilitate easier work methods for the operator.
- Learn and apply Kaizen tools to support manufacturing processes and flow lines.
- Travel to other Pursuit sites to participate and lead Kaizen workshops.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success in Kaizen and Continuous Improvement.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong foundational understanding of mechanical components, machine design & building.
- Experience with SolidWorks and Bambu Studio or other 3D printing software.
- Ability to mentor and support Lean culture adoption at varying levels of acceptance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
