Senior Mechanical Engineer Optomechanical Systems
Location: Cambridge
Salary: Β£50,000 Β£70,000
Platform Recruitment is working with a cutting-edge technology company developing complex precision systems for high-performance consumer and industrial products. As part of continued growth, theyre seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation electro-mechanical systems.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary engineering team, working on highly innovative products from concept through to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design precision mechanical parts and assemblies
- Build and operate lab-based mechanical systems
- Rapidly prototype new concepts
- Create detailed CAD models and drawings
- Liaise with suppliers for prototyping and manufacturing
- Customer facing including travel
Key Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with optical or precision systems
- Demonstrable experience in taking products from concept through to production
- Strong CAD skills Solidworks
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including injection moulding
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing
