About the role: As Cart Fleet Lead with Purposeful Golf, you will play an important role in delivering a seamless and welcoming golf experience for members and guests. The Golf Cart Fleet Manager is responsible for the overall management, safety, maintenance, and operational readiness of the golf cart fleet. This role ensures all carts are safe, clean, and functioning properly while supporting a high-quality member and guest experience. The Cart Fleet Lead contributes to a positive club atmosphere by demonstrating professionalism, attentiveness, and a team-first mindset while upholding the club’s commitment to exceptional service and a people-first culture.
Purpose Statement: To ensure the cart fleet is safe, clean, and functional to uphold a high-quality member and guest experience.
What you’ll do:
- Fleet Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all golf carts meet safety standards and are in proper working condition at all times
- Perform routine safety inspections and document findings
- Implement and enforce lockout/tagout procedures for damaged or unsafe carts
- Remove unsafe carts from service immediately and coordinate repairs
- Preventative Maintenance
- Develop and execute a preventative maintenance schedule for the entire fleet
- Conduct regular servicing including battery care, tire checks, brake inspections, and general upkeep
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records for all carts
- Repairs & Coordination
- Communicate and collaborate closely with the Turf Equipment Technician/Mechanic regarding repairs and mechanical issues
- Prioritize and track repair work to minimize downtime
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed
- Fleet Operations
- Oversee daily staging, charging, and rotation of carts to maximize efficiency and longevity
- Monitor fleet usage and recommend replacements or upgrades when necessary
- Ensure adequate cart availability for daily play, tournaments, and events
- Cleaning & Presentation
- Establish and maintain high standards for cart cleanliness and presentation
- Train and supervise staff on proper cleaning procedures, including interiors, exteriors, and storage areas
- Conduct routine quality checks to ensure carts meet club standards
- Staff Training & Supervision
- Train staff on safe cart handling, cleaning procedures, and reporting of damages
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and attention to detail
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
- Inventory & Supplies
- Manage inventory of parts, cleaning supplies, and maintenance materials
- Coordinate ordering and ensure adequate stock levels
What you bring:
- Previous experience in fleet management, golf course operations, or equipment maintenance preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and safety procedures
- Ability to implement and enforce safety protocols (including lockout/tagout)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and presentation

What You’ll Need:
- Must have a flexible working schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Ability to lift, push, and maneuver equipment as required
- Comfort with both fast-paced service days and slower periods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina for walking the property, standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 lbs overhead, bending, and carrying equipment
Compensation: $20.00 an hour
