Purplex Marketing is one of North Somerset’s fastest growing businesses, with head offices in Worle and a London base. We are a fast‑paced, dynamic marketing and media group employing 90+ staff, providing innovative marketing solutions for clients ranging from ambitious SMEs to blue‑chip corporations across the UK and Europe. We work with clients across a range of sectors, with particular strength in construction, building products, home improvements and B2B lead generation.
As our new Content Writer, you’ll play a key role in developing compelling, strategically focused content that drives results for our diverse client portfolio.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Content Writer to join our growing content and copywriting team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled writer who can produce compelling, strategically focused content across multiple formats and audiences. You’ll work closely with our strategic, digital and account management teams to create high‑quality content that drives results for B2B and B2C audiences. Your role will involve researching complex subject matter, developing content strategies aligned to SEO and commercial goals, and producing polished copy that resonates with sector‑specific audiences.
You’ll work on a diverse portfolio of content types – website copy, blog articles, whitepapers, case studies, email campaigns, press releases and technical guides – often across our specialist sectors including construction, building products and home improvements. Content creation is changing. You’ll use AI tools to work smarter – leveraging AI first drafts provided by our SEO team or creating them yourself using tools like Claude and ChatGPT to accelerate research, brainstorm ideas and produce initial drafts. This frees you to focus on what experienced writers do best: refining, editing, fact‑checking and injecting the insight, voice and commercial smarts that transforms generic content into work that actually persuades and converts.
You’ll work with your team to establish best practices for AI‑assisted content creation that maintains quality, authenticity and ethical standards. You’ll collaborate closely with our SEO team to ensure content strategies support search visibility and user intent, work with account managers to understand client objectives, and support the team in delivering consistent, high‑standard work across multiple projects and tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Create compelling, well‑researched content across multiple formats (web pages, blogs, guides, case studies, email campaigns, social copy) for B2B and B2C audiences.
- Use AI tools effectively – working with AI first drafts provided by the SEO team or creating them yourself – then elevate output through editing, fact‑checking, strategic refinement and brand voice.
- Collaborate with the SEO team to ensure content aligns with keyword strategy, search intent and performance goals.
- Work with account managers to understand client briefs, priorities and feedback, and ensure content meets commercial objectives.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a busy agency environment, maintaining high standards across all work.
- Participate in content planning, brainstorming and process improvement across the team.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity and best practice in content strategy and creation.
Summary of Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter or similar role (ideally 3+ years minimum).
- Exceptional writing and editing skills – you can write clear, grammatically correct, engaging content that adapts to different audiences, sectors and brand voices.
- Strong research skills with the ability to understand complex subject matter, identify key insights and translate them into compelling narrative.
- Experience writing for the web, including website copy, blog posts, guides and other long‑form content.
- Understanding of SEO principles, keyword research, search intent and how to write for both users and search engines.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency with AI writing tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) and comfort using them to accelerate research and first‑draft creation.
- Familiarity with content management systems, such as WordPress and basic digital publishing tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with designers, developers, account managers and strategists.
- Confidence in a fast‑paced agency environment, with the ability to handle feedback, iteration and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and the ability to understand how content serves business objectives.
- Passion for language, storytelling and continuous improvement in your craft.
