Overview

HR & Talent Acquisition Assistant 6 months fixed term role initially (with the possibility of an extension, or conversion to a permanent role) Thursley, Surrey (office-based). Reporting to – Head of People & Talent. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our People & Talent function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting people, developing their HR skills, and contributing to a positive employee experience. You will work closely with our Head of People & Talent and people managers to support with day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment and talent acquisition, employee lifecycle activities, documentation, onboarding, compliance, and all other general HR support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordination and administration of our recruitment and resourcing activities, working closely with hiring managers and the Head of People and Talent to meet all hiring needs.
  • Provide support across the full employee experience, from new starters through to leavers. Ensuring the best “employee journey” for our employees and contractors.
  • Coordinate recruitment activity through our Applicant Tracking System (Talos 360) from application through to offer stage.
  • Help to ensure all employee data on our HRIS system (BreatheHR) is accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure all employee security checks are completed and up to date. Ensuring the appropriate level of vetting is carried out.
  • Keep all training and skills records accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure all employee probation and appraisal meetings are being completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with recording sick leave, annual leave, and other absence management tasks.
  • Support with HR queries from employees, ensuring our employee’s feel supported and informed.
  • Help to organise internal events, training sessions and engagement activities.

Skills and experience

  • A minimum of level 3 CIPD qualification. We are also open to this role being an internship for an individual looking to study alongside the role.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to interact across all levels of the business.
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Attention to detail, with a deep appreciation for data accuracy.
  • Strong IT proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Collaborative team player.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to build effective relationships and respond sensitively to others.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently towards agreed goals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Experience in HRIS systems is desirable.
