Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead our transition into a new, large-scale facility in Wakefield. This critical role oversees the logistics, storage, and distribution of high-value technical infrastructure products supplied directly to major retail environments. The ideal candidate will combine strong warehouse management leadership with active, hands-on operational capability, including holding a valid forklift truck (FLT) licence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility Setup & Management: Lead the layout planning, racking optimization, and workflow design for the move into the new, larger warehouse facility.
  • Retail Supply Chain & Logistics: Oversee the accurate staging, configuration verification, and timely dispatch of technical infrastructure equipment destined for retail stores.
  • Hands-On Operations: Safely operate forklift trucks (Counterbalance/Reach) to load, unload, stack, and move heavy or bulky technical equipment and pallets.
  • Inventory & WMS Control: Maintain 100% stock accuracy across high-value technical inventory using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), overseeing regular cycle counts and stock audits.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and manage a growing team of warehouse operatives and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven Warehouse Management: Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing warehouse operations, ideally overseeing facility moves or scaling up operations.
  • Technical/Retail Supply Background: Experience handling technical hardware, IT infrastructure, or commercial equipment supplied to retail sectors is highly desirable.
  • Valid Forklift Licence: Essential possession of an accredited FLT licence (e.g., RTITB or ITSSAR Counterbalance and/or Reach).
  • Systems Proficiency: Solid experience working with modern Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP software, and spreadsheet applications.
