We are currently working in partnership with a large and well-regarded further education provider to recruit a Lecturer in Maths & Functional Skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who is motivated by making a real difference to learners’ lives.
This position involves teaching Maths and Functional Skills across a range of programmes within a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will play a key role in helping learners develop essential skills, progress academically, and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons tailored to a diverse range of learners
- Develop engaging learning materials and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
- Provide constructive feedback to support learner progress and achievement
- Deliver academic and pastoral support, including tutorials where required
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress, attendance, and engagement
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and relevant external partners
- Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety standards at all times
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- A relevant subject qualification (degree level or equivalent)
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent)
- Experience planning and delivering inclusive teaching in an FE or similar setting
- Strong subject knowledge and awareness of current teaching practices
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Confidence using digital tools to support teaching and learning
- A clear commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development
This role involves working with young people and/or vulnerable adults and is subject to pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check where applicable.
