We are currently working with a well-established secondary school who are looking to appoint a DT Technician on a full-time, long-term basis, starting immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technician to join a supportive Design & Technology department and play a key role in the day-to-day running of practical lessons.
The role:
- Supporting the Design & Technology department across practical lessons
- Preparing materials, tools and equipment for lessons
- Maintaining workshops and ensuring all equipment is safe and operational
- Supporting staff and students with CAD/CAM equipment and processes
- Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed at all times (including COSHH)
- General workshop organisation and stock management
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working as a DT Technician or in a similar school-based technical role
- Have some experience with CAD/CAM (training on specific systems can be provided)
- Be confident working in a workshop environment
- Have a good understanding of health & safety in practical subjects
- Be reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team
