Company Purple Lime seeks to change the way businesses use and interact with their financial data. We are the outsourced accounting and finance service for ambitious businesses, providing expertise from day-to-day bookkeeping to strategic board-level accounting and financial advice. Our proposition is based on utilising the latest cloud technology available within the accounting sector to efficiently capture and report the financial data and performance of our clients. We use a suite of technologies based around Xero accounting software.
As part of our offering, we also provide traditional accountancy services such as year-end accounts, taxation services, and payroll processing.
The position we are recruiting for is Assistant Management Accountant. It is part of a pathway within our organisation to encourage new starters with aspirations to reach chartered accountant level, if they wish, progressing to become an accomplished accountant capable of, and confident in, advising businesses across a broad range of subjects. The role will develop sound technical accounting expertise and the ability to form trusted relationships with clients and fellow team members.
We are a growing team of fun, yet professional individuals who place an emphasis on teamwork and adding true value to our clients’ businesses.
Purple Lime are located in a newly refurbished office in Callow Park, Brinkworth where you’ll find beautiful rural views and a pool and ping-pong table in the break room. Having a cloud-based platform allows for flexible working and we currently operate a hybrid working model between office and remote. Our clients are largely based in and around Wiltshire, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, and London. Our clients range from gastropubs to innovators in the medical sector.
Desired Personal Characteristics
- Hardworking, enthusiastic, and motivated by client satisfaction and success.
- Confident communicator; backed by a level of technical and commercial experience.
- Produces a high quality of work in a proactive manner that delivers value to clients.
- Keen to use technology, especially cloud-based applications (Xero experience would be desirable but not essential).
- Possesses advanced Excel skills.
- Keen eye for financial processes within an accounts department and not afraid to adopt a questioning mind.
- Confident in suggesting better, more efficient ways for tasks to be done – finding solutions as opposed to focusing on problems.
Role/Package
Salary is dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications. Pension after probation, IT equipment, branded t-shirt, and a few socials a year is also included! You will be rewarded 1 additional day’s holiday for every year of service with us, up to a maximum of 5 days. We ask that the core hours (10am to 4pm) are covered for a better client service, but we offer flexibility in your working day around these hours. We are also proud to be able to offer a profit-sharing arrangement to all members of staff assuming various targets are met by the business and individuals. This is in addition to basic remuneration and will be discussed further at interview. Other benefits available to staff will also be discussed at interview.
Experience
Experience with accountancy/finance, either in an educational setting or a practical setting when liaising with clients/other stakeholders, is desirable, but not essential. Xero experience is also desirable. Most importantly, we look for individuals with a desire to pursue a career in accountancy/finance, evidence of the technical aptitude required to perform the role, and the attitude required to add value to and succeed within our team.
Training
We provide in-house training for our range of applications and processes used as well as ad-hoc CPD courses.
