Our Design Services team delivers structural engineering solutions for clients across the UK, including the design of building structures in steel, concrete, precast concrete elements, and reinforced concrete detailing.

We work on projects ranging from individual buildings to large multi-disciplinary developments, providing practical, high-quality engineering solutions supported by experienced design teams.

What you'll be doing

You'll act as the primary technical link between clients and our engineering teams.

Rather than day-to-day design work, you'll coordinate projects, review technical work, and ensure quality delivery.

This role covers reinforced concrete and structural steel structures primarily. Experience with precast concrete and scaffolding would be advantageous.

  • Act as the primary technical interface between clients and our structural engineering teams
  • Coordinate and review structural engineering work to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to design teams throughout project delivery
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders
  • Review structural calculations, reports, drawings, and design documentation
  • Identify technical risks and develop practical engineering solutions
  • Ensure projects meet Eurocodes, UK Standards, client specifications, and agreed programmes
  • Support project managers with technical input during project delivery
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and design processes

Essential Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership
  • Significant experience in the design and delivery of building structures
  • Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel structures
  • Experience reviewing and checking structural engineering work
  • Excellent understanding of UK design standards and Eurocodes
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage technical coordination across multiple projects
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgement
  • Familiarity with FEA software such as: Dlubal RFEM/RSTAB, SCIA Engineer, ETABS, or equivalent

Desirable Skills

The following experience would be considered a strong advantage

  • Experience with precast concrete structures
  • Experience in temporary works and/or scaffold design
