Location: Belfast

Working Pattern: Primarily office-based, with potential flexibility for one day per week from home once established in the role.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am 4:30pm, with an early finish at 3:30pm on Fridays.

About the Role

Our client is a well-regarded Construction contractor working primarily across Healthcare, Education and Local Government. Due to organic growth, they are now looking at strengthening the bid team and now have a vacancy for a Bid Writer. This is a newly created position within the growing Bid and Marketing team and will play a key role in supporting the continued expansion of the business, which has grown substantially over the last decade, whilst maintaining their warm and close-knit culture.

Whilst the role is titled Bid Writer, there is flexibility to consider candidates with broader bid management experience. However, the priority is finding someone with strong bid writing capabilities who can take ownership of day-to-day content creation and submission writing, allowing you to focus on mentoring and developing the wider function.

The successful individual will work closely with the Bid Director, Bid Co-ordinator as well as the Marketing team to produce high-quality, compliant bid submissions.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience writing public sector bids and tenders.
  • Strong understanding of PQQs, ITTs and framework-based procurement processes.
  • Ability to produce compelling, compliant responses under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple submissions simultaneously.
  • Collaborative approach with the confidence to engage subject matter experts across the business.

Ideal Background

The preferred candidate will come from: Construction, Facilities Management, Mechanical & Electrical, Energy or a related sector, however other sector backgrounds are considered.
