I am a young child with SMA Type 1 and complex physical care needs. I am NG-fed and have very limited mobility, so I require support with my daily care, positioning and specialist equipment.
I am a happy and sociable child who enjoys interaction, songs, books, play and spending time with people around me. I am looking for someone who can support me with my care while helping me enjoy activities at home and in the community.
Your role will focus entirely on supporting me with my care and wellbeing, including personal care such as changing, dressing and hygiene support; supporting my NG feeding and established care routines; assisting with positioning and mobility needs; helping to keep specialist equipment clean, charged and ready for use; accompanying me to appointments, groups and community activities when required; supporting play, interaction and age-appropriate activities; and working alongside my family to ensure my care needs are met safely and consistently.
We are currently recruiting for an initial 4-hour-per-week position, ideally working on a Saturday.
An increased care package is currently being considered and, subject to approval, the intention is for this role to expand significantly. We are therefore looking for someone who is interested in becoming a longer-term member of our support team and who may be able to take on a substantial proportion of the additional hours available in the future.
These additional hours are expected to include daytime support, attendance at appointments and activities, community access, evening support and potentially overnight support, depending on the final package, mutual agreement and availability.
Rate of Pay: £14.00 per hour
