About me: I am a young boy, I am autistic and have moderate learning difficulties. I live with my family but need a personal assistant to assist me in all areas of my social life both at home and in the community. I can wander off, touch things, and might touch your face, sniff your collar or rub my face on yours if I need to self‑regulate when over‑stimulated. I have very high sensory needs.
Rate: £14.50 per hour.
Hours: Weekends and school holidays only – 4 hours per week.
Location: Hatfield.
DBS/Checks: Confirmation of DBS check. Right to work and references will be needed.
Training will be offered to enable completion of mandatory training required:
- Safeguarding Children
- Introduction to first aid
- Health and Safety
What you would be doing:
- No personal care, cooking, laundry but should tidy up after an activity
- Assist with my social life both at home and in the community
- Be happy to play video games with me
- Support when I am over stimulated
The person I would like:
- A car driver would be an advantage but not essential
- Experience with children with autism and learning difficulties
- You must be reliable, able to work flexible hours
- You will work under my parents' direction
