About me: The Direct Payment (DP) Holder is a 26 year old man with Learning Disabilities and some physical health conditions, seeking a team of PAs to offer 24 hour support to help him live independently. The young man would like support with all aspects of his life including accessing the community and being involved in social activities.
Hours and rate of pay: Full time or part time (20-25 hours). Up to £14 per hour depending on experience.
Location: Hertford (SG14)
DBS/Checks: Confirmation of DBS check required. Right to Work and references will be needed. Training will be offered to enable you to complete the mandatory training required:
- Safeguarding Adults
- Introduction to first aid
- Health and Safety
Responsibilities:
- Supporting with personal care, household chores and preparing meals
- Assisting with moving around the home and getting in and out of the car
- Support with accessing the community and attending social activities and Sunday church
- Support with communicating – using basic sign language and commands
Requirements and preferences:
- Reliable, flexible and have a positive and professional approach to offering support
- Experience of working with those who have Learning Disabilities is preferred, however not essential as a bespoke training programme will be offered
- Driver with a clean licence is essential (able to drive Motability vehicle)
