About me: I am a 47 year old female, diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. I live with my husband, son (aged 9) and our cat. I enjoy playing keyboard & flute and like to practice when I can, I also enjoy crafting and visiting the shops when my condition allows.
Hours, pay and location
- Hours: 15 hours per week
- Pay: £17 per hour
- Location: Cambourne, Cambridge, CB23
DBS/Checks: Confirmation of Enhanced DBS check (adult & child workforce) Right to Work and references will be needed.
Responsibilities
- I complete most of my personal care independently but, at times I may need support with showering, always washing & drying my hair.
- Accompanying me to drop/collect my son to/from school – at times you may be asked to do this independently.
- Supporting/encouraging me to get out into the community, shops, clubs.
- Supporting me to prepare & cook meals.
- Some household duties as needed, keeping surfaces clean, emptying bins, running the hoover round.

- Someone who will motivate and encourage me to maintain my independence.
- Someone who can work on their own initiative, this is important due to the fatigue I experience.
- If you can drive that would be great but is not essential.
- Someone who is kind, reliable and patient with a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, who possesses the motivation to develop trust and understanding in the role.
- My family are very important to me, it is important that you respect our privacy as a family.
- As some personal care is involved, I would feel more comfortable with a female carer.
