An established 24-hour veterinary hospital in Leicester is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its dedicated Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) team. This is a part-time, weekend-only position, working Saturday and Sunday, 9am–7pm, on a 1 weekend on, 4 weekends off rota, offering an excellent work–life balance alongside a highly competitive salary.
The recently refurbished 24-hour small animal hospital supports multiple local clinics across the Leicester area and benefits from a loyal client base and varied emergency caseload. The hospital is fully equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, including:
- Orthopaedic equipment
- Digital and dental X-ray
- Ultrasound
- Endoscopy
- Tonometry
This is a sole-charge ECC role, ideal for a confident and experienced veterinary surgeon with strong medical and surgical skills. You will:
- Deliver exceptional clinical care in emergency consults and surgery
- Manage emergency and critical care cases to the highest clinical and regulatory standards
- Develop and communicate tailored treatment plans with clients
- Work collaboratively within a supportive, multidisciplinary team
- Share clinical knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified MRCVS
- Proven experience in ECC or out-of-hours veterinary work
- Confident working sole charge
- Strong communication skills and commitment to clinical excellence
- A team-focused approach with a passion for patient and client care
Salary & Benefits: Up to £21,250 per year DOE
