Veterinary Surgeon – Wiltshire

Purpose-built independent RCVS accredited practice with fantastic onsite facilities including endoscopy, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and a fully stocked laboratory. Working alongside an amazing team including certificate holders in various fields. Generous salary up to £67,000 FTE. Accommodation available.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent small animal veterinary practice in a quaint market town in Wiltshire. Our client’s practice is a single-site facility, centrally located in a charming town on the edge of both Salisbury Plain and the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This scenic location offers breath-taking landscapes, rolling hills, and tranquil canals, while being conveniently close to Bath, Bristol, and the M4 corridor. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who can complement the practice\'s high standard of care and build strong relationships with clients through excellent communication, empathy, and support. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, making this an excellent opportunity for a vet who is keen to develop or share their clinical skills in a supportive and friendly independent practice environment.

The RCVS accredited practice has been a trusted name in the community since 1897 and now operates from a new, purpose-built, air-conditioned facility that provides an exceptional working environment. It features two sterile operating theatres, an imaging suite equipped with endoscopy, digital X-ray, and ultrasound (including a dedicated cardiac probe), a dental theatre with dental X-rays, a fully stocked laboratory, and separate cat, dog, and isolation wards. A large meeting space is also available, primarily used for in-house training events and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

You will be joining a fantastic team of experienced veterinary professionals, including certificate holders, who are always on hand and happy to discuss cases. The practice offers sociable hours, regular 5 pm finishes, and a half-day off each week to ensure a great work-life balance.

The Rota

  • Full time or Part Time role
  • Typical weekly shift pattern: 1 or 2 shifts 8.45am to 5pm, 1 or 2 shifts 8.45am to 6pm, 1 half day 8.30am to 1pm (with additional Friday half day following a weekend on call), 1 on call day 8.30am to 6.30pm (the nurse on duty takes the on-call phone)
  • OOH rota: 1:6 weekends and Saturday mornings and usually 1 weekday night
