A thriving, independent ambulatory equine practice is seeking a passionate Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team as they enter their second year!

Why This Role Stands Out – Join a progressive, close-knit practice that combines fully mobile, state-of-the-art equipment with a genuinely supportive culture. The team delivers a bespoke, collaborative service, always putting both horse and owner at the centre of every decision. You’ll be working alongside the practice owner/vet, a nurse, and a practice manager, as well as a trusted network of osteopaths, physiotherapists, farriers, and trainers. Together, they create tailored treatment and rehabilitation plans that achieve meaningful, real-world outcomes. This practice is known for its warm, client-focused approach, where kindness, empathy, and dedication shape every patient journey. All experience levels are encouraged to apply, including new graduates.

Caseload & Clinical Focus – Enjoy a varied and rewarding caseload with particular emphasis on:

  • Lameness
  • Poor performance
  • Rehabilitation

You’ll be fully equipped with a top-of-the-range, fully kitted-out ambulance. Have a specific clinical interest? The practice is committed to supporting your development and will help you grow in your chosen direction. Applicants with interests in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Physiotherapy / chiropractic / osteopathic work
  • Reproduction
  • Dentistry

Work-Life Balance & Rota – Full-time: 4 days per week (8:30am – 6:00pm). Part-time applications welcome. 1 in 2 weekend on-call with time off in lieu (Friday off the week after). Extra locum support every six weekends. Time off in lieu: Friday off following a worked weekend (if called in). The practice uses Equicomms to triage out-of-hours calls—filtering non-emergencies and reducing workload. No extra phone required, and remote support is always available.

Benefits – Salary up to £65,000 DOE, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata), RCVS & BEVA fees covered, sick pay, unlimited CPD allowance, open to visa sponsorship, opportunity to buy in for the right candidate! Plus much more!
