I’m currently working with a fantastic independent small animal practice in West London that’s looking to welcome an experienced RVN into their growing team. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit, supportive environment while still working to an exceptionally high clinical standard.

The practice has built an excellent reputation locally for both patient care and client experience, and since opening a few years ago has continued to grow steadily through word of mouth and loyal clients. The team itself is a huge part of what makes this role stand out. There’s a real focus on collaboration, development and looking after one another, with a culture where everyone’s ideas and contributions are valued.

Alongside a strong permanent team, the practice also works closely with visiting specialists across a variety of disciplines, meaning there’s great exposure to more advanced and complex cases for anyone keen to continue developing their skills. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Nurse and wider leadership team to help support the smooth running of the clinical day. This is very much a hands-on senior nursing role, combining leadership and mentorship with high-quality clinical work.

You’ll play an important role in supporting junior nurses, maintaining excellent standards of patient care and helping create a calm, positive working environment for the whole team. The caseload is varied and interesting, covering everything from inpatient care and anaesthesia through to imaging, dentistry and nurse consults. The practice is very well equipped, with access to advanced facilities and modern technology, and they’re keen to find someone who enjoys working to a high standard while remaining approachable and team-focused.

They’re ideally looking for an experienced RVN with strong clinical skills and the confidence to support and guide others day to day. Previous leadership or mentoring experience would be a real advantage, although equally important is finding someone who communicates well, stays calm under pressure and enjoys being part of a collaborative team culture.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary up to £40,000
  • RCVS fees paid
  • £1500 CPD allowance plus 3 paid CPD days annually
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Additional annual leave through a loyalty scheme
  • Birthday off (if it falls on a weekday)
  • Healthcare contributions for routine treatments including dental and optical
  • Discounted veterinary care and pet food for your own pets
  • Paid overtime and TOIL
  • CycleScheme

The role is predominantly daytime based, working across two purpose-built sites in West London, with only occasional requirement for out-of-hours support when needed. Most importantly, this is a team that genuinely cares about creating a positive workplace where people feel valued, supported and able to grow in their careers.
