This part-time role offers two days per week and would suit either a soon-to-qualify or newly qualified RVN looking for strong support, or an experienced nurse seeking flexible hours to fit around other commitments. You’ll work closely with an experienced Senior RVN and Senior Vet, playing a key role in the day-to-day running of the practice. The position offers a varied caseload, covering theatre, inpatient care, consultations, stock management, and clinical coaching of trainee nurses.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients across all areas of the practice
- Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations
- Monitor anaesthesia and maintain comprehensive patient records
- Support inpatient care, admissions and discharges
- Run nurse consultations and preventative healthcare clinics
- Manage stock levels of medications, consumables and diets
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, sterilised and maintained
- Provide occasional reception and client communication support
- Mentor and support trainee veterinary nurses
- Part-time position – 2 days per week
- 1 in 4 Saturday mornings at the branch
- 1 in 10 Saturday rotation at a nearby 24‑hour hospital
- 1 bank holiday per year
- No on-call duties
