An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a well-established, RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital in South West London. This role is ideal for an experienced veterinary nurse with a passion for theatre practice and anaesthesia, looking to work in a supportive hospital environment with an excellent clinical caseload.

This thriving 24-hour hospital provides a varied and rewarding caseload, offering routine procedures, emergency and critical care, and internal referral services to surrounding sister practices requiring hospital expertise. The successful RVN will also have exposure to specialist services, including orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and physiotherapy.

The Opportunity

This part-time RVN position is perfectly suited to a nurse who thrives in a theatre setting. The successful candidate will predominantly support soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures, making theatre and anaesthesia a key focus of the role. The hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working collaboratively while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.

Working Pattern

  • 8-hour shifts: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • 1:4 weekend rotation: Saturday or Sunday
  • 1–2 bank holidays per year
  • No out-of-hours or on-call requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting veterinary surgeons in theatre, consultations, inpatient examinations and procedures
  • Assisting with anaesthesia and surgical nursing, particularly within orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery
  • Undertaking weekend Charge Nurse duties, when required
  • Providing clients with clear post‑operative discharge instructions, including medication guidance and relevant literature
  • Accurately recording client communications regarding treatment plans, patient care and fees within clinical histories
  • Ensuring all surgical and clinical equipment is appropriately cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored
  • Maintaining precise records for hospitalised patients
  • Working in accordance with hospital shift guidance and clinical protocols
  • Promoting a clean, organised and high‑standard clinical environment, following SOPs throughout the hospital
  • Contributing to a respectful, collaborative and supportive team culture

Salary & Benefits
