Veterinary Surgeon
Orpington | Up to £70,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing, independent small animal practice in Petts Wood.

Our client is a well-established, purpose-built independent companion animal practice that is growing steadily and looking to welcome another Veterinary Surgeon to its friendly and collaborative team.

The practice takes a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to veterinary medicine and prides itself on building long-term relationships with both clients and their pets.

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you'll play a key role within the practice, providing high-quality clinical care across a varied caseload. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Clinical examinations and routine consultations
  • Medical and surgical cases
  • Anaesthesia and dentistry
  • Diagnostic investigation and interpretation
  • Emergency cases within normal working hours
  • Working closely with experienced veterinary nurses and the wider team
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior colleagues
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with clients and clearly explaining treatment options

Consultations are properly timed, allowing you to give each patient the attention they deserve, while the collaborative team environment means colleagues are always on hand to support one another.

You'll be encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and use your clinical judgement to provide evidence-based care.

About You

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of 3 years' experience who is confident working across small animal medicine and surgery.

You'll ideally have

  • MRCVS eligibility or full RCVS registration
  • Strong clinical skills across small animal medicine, surgery and anaesthesia
  • Excellent communication and client-care skills
  • A collaborative approach and genuine respect for colleagues
  • Sound clinical judgement and a commitment to evidence-based medicine
  • Confidence in dentistry, or a willingness to develop your skills
  • Previous experience in small animal general practice
