Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The practice is located in a popular town in County Durham, close to the Northumberland countryside, the coast, and the cities of Newcastle and Durham.
The practice is VetGDP registered and awaiting final submission for General Practice status under the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. They are also a nurse training practice and are passionate about nurturing the next generation of veterinary professionals.

You’ll be joining a talented and supportive team, with experience ranging from new graduates to a Surgery Certificate holder, plus support from a sister practice and a nearby referral hospital. Weekly vet meetings and a dedicated Vet Slack group ensure collaboration and support are always within easy reach.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hard-working, and a team player who enjoys a good laugh. Leadership experience is a bonus, but if you’re not there yet, leadership training is provided and encouraged. Above all, the team values a great attitude and a solid work ethic.
In this role, you’ll enjoy a varied caseload, with the occasional exotic patient. The average working week is 34 hours, with one in four days spent on the road locally as part of their Homecare Vet/Nurse team. There’s a 1:4 Saturday morning rota (just a 2.5-hour consult shift), and no late nights, out-of-hours, or bank holidays.
The Package:
- Salary Range: £40,000 - £65,000 (Dependant on capability/certification)
- 6 working weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
