An independently owned, RCVS-accredited mixed veterinary practice in Knaresborough is seeking an enthusiastic Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join its experienced and supportive team. This is a true mixed role, with a varied caseload comprising approximately 75% small animal, 15% farm, and 10% equine work. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinary surgeon with 3+ years’ experience, although motivated recent graduates with a proactive, hands‑on attitude will also be considered and fully supported. The practice is an RCVS Approved Graduate Development Practice and participates in the VetGDP programme.
The successful candidate will be fully involved in all aspects of clinical work, managing a diverse and interesting caseload ranging from routine procedures to complex diagnostics and surgery. This is not a restricted or junior-only role—veterinary surgeons are encouraged to develop their clinical interests and pursue areas of specialism.
Typical working days may include:
- Small animal consultations and surgery (including orthopaedics)
- Farm visits, including calving and herd health work
- Equine ambulatory work
