A well-established, proudly independent veterinary practice in Penrith is seeking a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and supportive team. A minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience is required for this role, making it well suited to a confident veterinary surgeon who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
The successful candidate will join a close-knit team consisting of a Clinical Director, Practice Manager, two Veterinary Nurses, and a dedicated Reception team. The practice operates within a traditional farm/mixed setting, offering a varied caseload with a strong farm animal focus:
- Approximately 90% farm animal work (no equine)
- 10% small animal work, primarily on-call and weekends
- Client base includes dairy, beef, and sheep enterprises across the Eden Valley
- Routine TB testing shared equally, with support from a dedicated TB Tester
This role offers genuine clinical freedom and the opportunity to build strong client relationships within a loyal farming community.
Work-Life Balance
- Full-time vets work a 4-day week
- 2 in 5 on-call rota
- Two vets on call at all times for support
