An established small animal veterinary practice in South West London is seeking a Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its experienced and supportive team on a full-time basis. Located south of the river between Battersea and Clapham, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to progress into or further establish themselves within a senior leadership role in a highly desirable London location.

The Opportunity
The successful Senior RVN will join a well-supported team comprising 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 2 RVNs, trainee nurses, and experienced reception colleagues, all committed to delivering outstanding care to patients and exceptional service to clients. This role would suit an experienced RVN seeking a senior veterinary nurse position in London, offering leadership responsibilities while remaining hands-on clinically within a modern and well-equipped small animal practice. Leadership training is available to support those transitioning into a senior role.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time veterinary nurse position (40 hours per week) working:
- Monday to Friday
- 1:4 branch Saturday rota
- 1:10 Saturday rotation at the sister hospital
- 1 bank holiday per year
- No on-call requirements
Out-of-hours care is fully supported by a nearby 24-hour sister hospital, located approximately 20 minutes away, allowing the team to maintain an excellent work-life balance.
About the Practice
The clinic is fully equipped to support a broad range of general practice diagnostics and surgical procedures onsite, enabling the nursing team to fully utilise their clinical skills. Facilities include:
- Imaging suite
- Blood diagnostics suite
- Surgical and medical equipment for day-to-day GP procedures
- Supportive clinical environment with strong regional leadership
The Senior RVN will also benefit from ongoing support from a dedicated Regional Manager.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse
The Senior RVN will play an integral role in both clinical nursing and team leadership, helping maintain high standards across all areas of the practice. Responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting the nursing team to ensure exceptional standards of patient care
- Ensuring the provision of high-quality nursing care, patient comfort, and animal welfare
- Assisting Veterinary Surgeons in theatre and during consultations when required
- Fully utilising Schedule 3 nursing skills
- Maintaining and monitoring diagnostic, surgical, and medical equipment
- Conducting weekly Controlled Drugs audits in line with protocol
- Supporting and overseeing reception operations to ensure an excellent client journey
- Delivering outstanding customer service via phone, email, and in person
- Acting as a Clinical Supervisor for student veterinary nurses
- Supporting the continued development and smooth running of the practice team
