Lead Veterinary Surgeon / Partnership Opportunity – South West London

Salary Potential: £110,000+ | Practice Ownership | Leadership Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to take the next step in their career through a unique practice ownership and partnership opportunity in South West London.

This role is ideal for an ambitious Veterinary Surgeon who is ready to combine clinical leadership with business ownership while benefiting from the support of an established and experienced veterinary network. Rather than facing the challenges of independent ownership alone, the successful candidate will receive comprehensive operational, financial and clinical support, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional patient care and growing a successful practice.

The role will oversee two well‑equipped small animal clinics in sought‑after South West London locations. Both practices offer modern facilities, including digital X‑ray, ultrasound, an in‑house laboratory and all the equipment expected in a progressive first opinion practice.

The Opportunity

As Lead Veterinary Surgeon and Partner, the successful candidate will provide clinical leadership across both practices, inspiring and mentoring the veterinary team while maintaining the highest standards of patient and client care. Previous leadership or senior veterinary experience is essential, as the role involves supporting team development, driving clinical excellence and contributing to the continued success of the practices.

The wider partnership model brings together experienced professionals with complementary strengths, allowing partners to focus on their areas of expertise while sharing in the long‑term success of the business.

Partnership Benefits

  • Monthly profit share alongside a guaranteed exit payment when leaving the partnership.
  • Structured exit strategy with increasing practice valuations over time.
  • Potential annual drawings increasing from approximately £110,000 in Year 2 to £178,000 by Year 10.
  • Opportunity to build significant equity, with projected practice values exceeding £1.2 million over time.
  • Flexible finance options, including deferred payment schemes and competitive lending support.
  • Guaranteed minimum drawings equivalent to £75,000 during the early stages if practice profits are below expectations.

Outstanding Business Support

  • Finance, HR, marketing, procurement and facilities management teams.
  • Regional Operations support.
  • Access to an experienced network of veterinary professionals and clinical specialists.
  • Ongoing business coaching and partnership mentoring.
  • Comprehensive operational support, allowing partners to focus on clinical leadership and practice growth.

Candidate Requirements

  • RCVS registration as a Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing a veterinary team.
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding patient and client care.
  • The ambition to grow both a successful veterinary practice and a high‑performing clinical team.

Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to enjoy the rewards of practice ownership without the uncertainty of going it alone. Combining genuine autonomy, long‑term financial reward and exceptional professional support, this role offers an outstanding career pathway for an experienced veterinary professional looking to make a lasting impact.

For Veterinary Surgeons who have always considered owning a practice but wanted the reassurance of expert backing, proven business support and a clear exit strategy, this opportunity offers the very best of both worlds.
