We’re currently recruiting a Locum Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established, 100% small animal veterinary practice in Ayrshire. This is a full-time locum role starting from the end of April or beginning of May, ideal for an RVN looking for a supportive, well-equipped environment.
The Practice
This long-standing, respected practice offers a wide range of services and prides itself on delivering high-quality, compassionate veterinary care. Facilities include:
- Fully equipped surgical suites
- In-house laboratory for blood and urine testing
- Digital X-ray
- High-resolution ultrasound with Doppler
- Diagnostics and laser therapy
- Acupuncture services
- Nurse-led clinics and preventative care
- Referral pathways to specialist centres
The practice also actively supports training and development, including student veterinary nurses and further clinical interests.
The Role
As a Locum RVN, you’ll be involved in a varied and rewarding caseload, including:
- Nurse consultations and clinics
- Vaccinations and preventative healthcare
- Flea, tick and worming advice
- Microchipping (dogs, cats and other species)
- Dental care support
- Weight management and nutrition clinics
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Routine pet care and patient support
- Assisting with diagnostics and procedures
- Supporting end-of-life care with empathy and professionalism
