An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and driven Veterinary Surgeon to join a state-of-the-art 24-hour hospital in Northamptonshire. This role is perfect for experienced vets seeking a supportive, collaborative team environment with access to modern facilities and opportunities to develop clinical skills.

The hospital is situated in the heart of a historic market town in central England, offering the perfect blend of heritage and modern living. With London and Birmingham both less than an hour away by train, and stunning countryside and country parks on the doorstep, this location provides an ideal balance of work and lifestyle.

The hospital is home to over 80 dedicated professionals, creating a truly collaborative and supportive working environment. A highly experienced and nurturing nursing team is a particular strength, with many team members progressing internally from ACA, VCA, or SVN roles and continuing their careers long-term.

This purpose-built, modern veterinary hospital was designed by vets for vets after outgrowing its previous premises. The 24-hour facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology and exceptional amenities, including:

  • Endoscopy and laparoscopy equipment
  • Ultrasound
  • Fully equipped sterile theatre with piped gas
  • Excellent staff welfare facilities

Established in the 1960s, the practice has grown into a respected group with five large branch surgeries and a central 24-hour hospital, providing outstanding veterinary care across Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire. The friendly, highly qualified team is committed to supporting colleagues in developing their skills within a collaborative, progressive environment.

This weekend position offers the chance to work as part of a genuinely supportive team where clinical expertise is valued and encouraged.

Shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (optional Monday for additional hours)
Hours: 10-hour shifts, equating to 30 hours per week, or 40 hours with Monday

Responsibilities: Consultations and in-patient care; occasional sole charge on Saturdays and Sundays with on-site support from RVN, ACA, and receptionist

Ideal Candidate: Experienced vet looking to explore clinical interests with tailored support and development provided
