A well-established small animal veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Locum Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to support its friendly team across its Stansted Mountfitchet, Saffron Walden and Dunmow branches. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident veterinary surgeon looking for flexible locum work within a progressive practice offering an interesting and varied caseload.

Available Shifts

  • Monday 3rd August – Stansted – Consults & Operations
  • Monday 3rd August – Saffron Walden – Consults Only
  • Monday 10th August – Stansted – Consults & Operations
  • Wednesday 19th August – Saffron Walden – Consults Only or Consults & Operations
  • Wednesday 19th August – Dunmow – Consults Only
  • Thursday 20th August – Dunmow – Consults Only
  • Friday 21st August – Saffron Walden – Consults Only
  • Wednesday 2nd September – Dunmow – Consults Only
  • Thursday 3rd September – Dunmow – Consults Only

Shift Details

  • 09:00 – 18:30
  • 30-minute lunch break (often longer)
  • £450–£500 day rate, depending on experience

The successful locum will join a respected veterinary practice with over 40 years of caring for pets and their owners across Essex. Working alongside an experienced clinical team, the role offers a varied small animal caseload ranging from routine consultations to more complex medical and surgical cases. For consults and operations shifts, there is the opportunity to fully investigate and manage cases from diagnosis through to treatment using excellent in-house facilities.
