An independent small-animal veterinary practice in Cardiff, South Wales, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and supportive team. The practice is proud of its compassionate, close-knit environment, where highly skilled vets work alongside caring, approachable, and professional nursing staff—all committed to delivering exceptional care to pets and their owners.
The ideal candidate will bring a genuine passion for animal welfare and the clinical expertise required to provide high-quality medical and surgical care to a wide variety of small animals. The practice is fully equipped to deliver a comprehensive range of services, including three consulting rooms, two theatres, advanced digital and dental X-ray facilities, separate cat and dog wards, full IDEXX laboratory equipment, and more.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out thorough clinical examinations and diagnose medical conditions.
- Perform a range of surgical procedures, including emergencies, to the highest clinical standards.
- Administer anaesthesia and closely monitor patients to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Prescribe medications and create tailored treatment plans.
- Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain clear and accurate medical records, documenting assessments, treatments, and patient progress.
- Advise and educate pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare, and general pet wellbeing.
- Stay up to date with developments in veterinary medicine through ongoing CPD.
