We are working on behalf of a well-established, independent small animal practice seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing coastal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP vet looking to enjoy high-quality first opinion work in a supportive, non-corporate environment—without out-of-hours commitments. Located just minutes from the seafront, this role offers genuine work-life balance, including protected lunch breaks and a manageable rota.
Our client is a multi award-winning, RCVS-accredited practice with a long-standing reputation for clinical excellence and employee satisfaction. Established in 1996, they have grown into a respected independent group with a strong local presence. They operate a “one pet, one vet” approach, promoting continuity of care and enabling vets to build lasting relationships with clients and patients alike.
Facilities across their Rottingdean and Peacehaven sites include:
- Digital radiography (including dental)
- Ultrasound
- In-house laboratory (including advanced diagnostics)
- Dedicated operating theatres and prep areas
- Modern dental and surgical equipment
The team consists of experienced vets, RVNs, and support staff, many of whom have been with the practice for several years.
This is a first-opinion GP position working with a varied caseload of small animals (cats, dogs, and small furries). The role will involve:
- Consultations and case work-ups
- Routine and more advanced surgical procedures
- Dental work
- Building strong client relationships
The practice encourages clinical autonomy, allowing vets to make the best decisions for their patients without the pressure of targets.
Flexible full-time or part-time options available:
- 1 evening clinic per week (until 6:30pm)
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (until 12:30pm)
- No out-of-hours (covered by a nearby provider)
- Paid overtime if required (rare)
Salary: £45,000 – £68,000 DOE (pro rata for part‑time)

- 5 weeks holiday + bank holidays
- ÂŁ2,000 CPD allowance (pro rata)
