An established, modern small animal veterinary practice in South Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to lead a dedicated nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and motivated RVN looking to step into, or further develop, a leadership role within a supportive and progressive clinical environment.
The Role
The Head Nurse will be responsible for leading and developing the nursing team while ensuring the highest standards of clinical care and client service are consistently delivered. This is a hands-on leadership position, combining clinical nursing with team management and mentoring.
Working pattern:
- 4 days per week
- 9-hour shifts
- 1:4 weekends
Previous leadership or senior nursing experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will join a purpose-built, state-of-the-art veterinary practice with excellent facilities, including specialist wards and a fully equipped dental suite. The practice operates with a strong clinical ethos and a genuine focus on team wellbeing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The wider team includes experienced clinicians and nurses, many of whom are working towards additional certifications to expand clinical services and skills.
